“Fluoroplastic” is a construction description, not a universal chemical guarantee.
A useful review identifies the exact liquid and all conditions that can change chemical attack, swelling, embrittlement, wear or heat generation. The casing lining, impeller, shaft, bearings, containment parts, O-rings and gaskets must be considered as one wetted system.
Begin with the complete liquid identity
Provide the chemical name used by the plant, but do not stop there. Include concentration or composition, trade name where relevant, dissolved substances, expected contaminants and whether the mixture changes during operation. A compatibility decision for a dilute solution cannot automatically be transferred to a stronger solution or a mixed waste stream.
State whether the liquid can crystallize, polymerize, precipitate or release gas when pressure or temperature changes. These behaviours may affect circulation through the magnetic-drive internals even when the main casing material appears chemically suitable. A clean-liquid magnetic pump should not be assumed to tolerate suspended solids or deposits.
Cleaning and flushing liquids also belong in the review. A pump may contact the process liquid for most of the day but encounter a different chemical during washdown. Supply the cleaning chemical, concentration, temperature and contact time instead of treating cleaning as a separate non-process event.
Record the conditions that change material behaviour

Also give required flow, total head, suction arrangement, source level and pipe layout. Material approval does not prove that the pump will operate at the correct duty point. The hydraulic curve and available inlet condition must be reviewed separately.
Check the complete wetted path
The CQB-F fluoroplastic magnetic drive pump uses a sealless magnetic coupling and is intended for clean corrosive-liquid duties after compatibility review. The review must include more than the visible casing. Ask for the material of the casing or lining, impeller, shaft, bearings, thrust parts, containment shell, O-rings and gaskets in the exact proposed configuration.
Ceramic or other hard internal parts may have different limits from the fluoroplastic surfaces. Elastomeric seals can also respond differently to the same chemical. A statement that one major component is resistant is therefore incomplete unless the remaining wetted parts are identified.
Compatibility and operating protection are connected. Dry running, blocked circulation or an unsuitable operating point can create heat and damage internal friction components even when the chemical does not attack the casing. Review dry-run, flow, level, power or temperature protection according to the process risk.
Build a review record that can be approved
- List every process and cleaning fluid with concentration ranges.
- Record normal, minimum and maximum temperatures.
- Describe solids, crystals, contamination and gas release.
- Confirm flow, total head, suction conditions and operating schedule.
- Identify each wetted material in the proposed pump configuration.
- Record any unresolved compatibility point as requiring confirmation.
