QUICK COMPARISON
Start with the liquid and installation—not the series name.
| Series | Primary selection question | Typical direction | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|---|
| CQ | Is the liquid clean and compatible with the selected configuration? | Standard magnetic-drive arrangement for compatible clean-liquid duties. | Liquid, flow, head, temperature, viscosity, installation and wetted-material compatibility. |
| CQB-F | Does the corrosive clean-liquid duty require a fluoroplastic wetted-material system? | Fluoroplastic magnetic-drive series for review in corrosive chemical service. | Exact chemical, concentration, temperature and every wetted component. |
| ZCQ | Does the installation actually require self-priming capability? | Self-priming magnetic-drive series for review where suction arrangement is part of the duty. | Suction lift, tank level, pipe route, air tightness and liquid availability. |
When should CQ be considered?
The CQ Standard Magnetic Drive Pump is a standard magnetic-drive series to review for compatible clean-liquid duties. Its magnetic coupling transmits torque without a conventional rotating shaft seal. That description does not determine suitability by itself: confirm the medium, required flow, total head, temperature, viscosity, specific gravity, installation and wetted-material compatibility before selecting the configuration.
CQ should not be treated as the same product as CQB-F. The series answer different selection questions, and the actual liquid condition remains the starting point for either review.
When should CQB-F be considered?
The CQB-F Fluoroplastic Magnetic Drive Pump can be reviewed for clean corrosive liquid duties when a fluoroplastic wetted-material system is under consideration. “Fluoroplastic” does not mean universal chemical resistance. Confirm the exact chemical, concentration, temperature and all wetted components before accepting the configuration for a process.
Also confirm the hydraulic duty and inlet arrangement. A material review cannot replace the need to establish required flow, total dynamic head, viscosity, specific gravity and practical suction conditions.
When should ZCQ be considered?
The ZCQ Self-Priming Magnetic Drive Pump is the relevant series to review when the installation requires a self-priming arrangement. Self-priming capability does not replace correct inlet-system design. Confirm the actual suction lift, tank level, pipe diameter, pipe length, valve and filter condition, air leakage risk, liquid availability and startup conditions before choosing the series.
Do not select ZCQ solely because a system has trouble drawing liquid. A suction restriction, poor pipe layout or air entry should be diagnosed as part of the installation review.
Do not choose the series from the chemical name alone
Descriptions such as “acid,” “alkali,” “solvent” or “chemical liquid” are not enough for a final pump selection. State the exact liquid, concentration, temperature, specific gravity, viscosity, solids or crystallization risk, required flow, total dynamic head and suction conditions. These details determine which series should be reviewed first and whether the selected materials and configuration match the real duty.
Which series should you review first?
| Operating situation | First review direction |
|---|---|
| Clean compatible liquid with conventional flooded suction | Review CQ. |
| Corrosive clean chemical with a fluoroplastic material system under consideration | Review CQB-F. |
| Installation requires self-priming capability | Review ZCQ. |
| Solids or crystallization are present | Do not select automatically; engineering review is required. |
| Material compatibility is uncertain | Confirm chemical, concentration and temperature before selecting a series. |
Information to send before requesting a magnetic pump quotation
Prepare the following information before asking for a model review:
- Liquid name and concentration
- Operating temperature
- Required flow
- Total dynamic head or discharge pressure
- Specific gravity and viscosity
- Solids or crystallization risk
- Suction arrangement and any self-priming requirement
- Power supply and operating pattern
- Installation details and destination country
Shanghai Shangcheng Pump & Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd. can review these operating conditions with the requested series. Use the project inquiry page to send the process and installation details needed for a practical selection discussion.
Choose the series after the duty is clear.
Send the liquid, concentration, temperature, flow, head and suction arrangement for a technical review of the appropriate magnetic-drive pump configuration.
